There are at least 25 % tall women in the world with big foot size (by women measures), and each of them wants to look elegant and stylish. If men consider being tall as a privilege, then women take their big foot size as a shortcoming, trying to «smooth» it by right choice of shoes and clothes.

Big sizes shoes problem

Shoes in every women wardrobe play a great role, and extremely important role for ladies with non- standard physiological characteristics of foot. Women choose shoes very carefully, often abandon sport shoes and democratic moccasins (they visually make foot bigger), but at the same time usually consider stiletto heels unacceptable for them. The problem is that modern shoe industry is oriented on mass consumer with outdated average foot size (36-40), which was set in 80-90th of the ХХ century and has not been revised since. That is why modern women, whose foot size «get bigger in statistical average», today face lots of problems with the choice: in any shoe box 41-44 foot sizes are in unique pair, there is no choice of shoes for them in any standard footwear store, while there are too few specialized stores.

Subtleties of manufacturing process

The problem of women’s big size shoe is not in its overall dimensions, but rather there is a need to smooth large block to look more miniature. Conveyor manufacturing is not adapted for that.

For big size models you should make special design, exclusive silhouette, use specialized block, take into consideration orthopedic protection from flatfoot etc. Cost size of the model will automatically rise because of raised labor cost.

In fact, you need totally new shoe manufacturing, and many famous shoes factories are working on this problem by measuring different women groups, companies develop new «mass shoe» standards and new block models’ design, which designers use for sport, daily, office and evening shoes collections.

It is important that the problem is already acknowledged by shoes market’s leading operators, who are looking for ways of filling the deficit of non-standard shoes. It is quite possible, that in the near future, average women with 41-44 foot size will not face problems with shoe choice and will get a wide assortment of shoes for every occasion.
